What's up, fellas!
With Halloween right around the corner, I'm sure you guys are all ready to booze and cruise for candy as I certainly will. So let's make sure you do it with the right beer.
Today I'm trying out New Belgium's Glutiny Golden Ale. After releasing the Glutiny lineup in January of this year, New Belgium has shown they are on their shit when it comes to keeping up with their customer base.
I really like this beer. With a medium-body mouthfeel and an aroma with hints of vanilla, this is sure to impress your girlfriend's dad who silently judges your consumption of cider.
The beer tastes amazing, showing a semi-sweet mix with an earthy hop finish. The Glutiny has a great malty taste and a clear golden color.
Easy in, easy out.
Either I'm becoming a professional beer bonger (yes) or this beer is awesome (also yes). Carbonation is not at all overwhelming, and as it went down it tasted very bready which was kind of strange.
Coming in at $8.99 for a 6 pack of 12 oz beers at 5.2%, I think this beer is a fucking deal. I see a lot of gluten-free beers and cider in the stores that can go for around $12.99 for a 4 pack. I'm super happy with the value.
No. Glutiny is a gluten-reduced beer that is produced from barley malt, but during the fermentation process, an enzyme designed to break down gluten was introduced to the beer bringing the ppm of gluten to 3 or lower.
So can you drink it?
Maybe. For more information on gluten-reduction, check out my article here.
For me personally, I haven't felt any negative side effects so I think I'm good.
(note: One of my Instagram friends says she DID feel symptoms when she tried out Glutiny, so make sure you test out gently before deciding for yourself)
I really really like this beer. I'm definitely picking up another one of these for Halloween on Monday! Coming in at a great value, awesome taste, and easy drinking I think that New Belgium nailed the Glutiny Golden Ale.
